What Could Be Causing Swollen Gland Under Chin And Sore Throat?
Hi I m a female 49yrs and have been for the last four months been suffering from left side under chin swollen gland and sore throat. My doctor just called and stated my white cell count is 14.8 and normal should be 10. Is this a first sign of cancer or could this be another disease?
Hello, Four months is considerable time for swollen glands. Have you had any diagnosis or treatment? You may have a systemic disorder, lymph or salivary gland infected or a dental problem. Consider having a complete dental exam with XRays. Chronic dental infections can be from an infected tooth or gum disease. You need to consider additional diagnostic testing to help locate the source of this inflammation. Your signs are more indicative of inflammation or active infection. Your blood cells may need additional evaluation for proper function. Concerns for cancer are greater with abrupt, rapid, and painful changes. Thank you for your inquiry. I hope you will find answers and diagnosis soon.
