What Could Be Causing The Cramps, No Period After Getting Off The Pill?

I m 34. 5 weeks ago I got off the pill and decided to try to conceive. Did not get my period yet. Tested at 4 weeks and it was negative. Havebt tested since. I ve been having cramps for past week and still no period, sometimes with a sudden movement or after exercising. What could be causing this?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
I am Dr Nilajkumar a consultant gynecologist and I will be helping you in your queries.

The best time to test for pregnancy is at least 7 days after the missed period. So kindly recheck after 7 days. The first period after stopping the pill may be irregular in a few women. So the possibility is that either it is a delayed period or pregnancy.

Please repeat a urine test after 7 days. If still negative then pregnancy is ruled out. In this case wait for another 2 -3 weeks for the period. If it is not there then see your doctor to determine other causes like hormonal issues or cysts in ovary.

Hope this was helpful.
Feel free to ask any further queries and I will be happy to help.
Thanks for using HCM.
Have a good day.
