What Could Be Reason For Having Swelling In My Left Gland?
Yes I am a 38 year old female an my left gland has been swelling on an off it comes up for about a week then it will go away for a couple of weeks then it comes back again the only time it bothers me is when I touch it or move my neck what could be causing this.
Hi ! Good eveining. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.
You have not mentioned which gland in your neck is causing trouble for you. Presuming that it is possibly a submandibular gland, in case I were your doctor, I would advise you for a plain X ray of the mandible to rule out any calculi in the sub mandibular duct. This will give rise to such intermittent swelling of the gland with relief in between. You can consult an ENT specialist/ General surgeon to examine the swelling and arrive at a proper diagnosis.
I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts. Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. Wishing you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
