Hi,

Usually menstrual cycle with a length of 21 to 35 days can be considered as normal. As you have used Norethisterone 4 months back and got four regular menstrual cycles after that, the tablet may not be the cause of present delay in periods. But repeated intake of tablets for postponement of periods can affect the menstrual pattern.

Now, if there is any suspicion regarding pregnancy, please go for a urine pregnancy test once. If test gives a negative result, you can wait for a few more days and you may get periods soon. If you do not periods, even after one week, better to get evaluated. Please consult your gynecologist once, get examined and go for investigations like, hemoglobin, blood sugar level estimation, thyroid profile, serum prolcatin levels, ultrasound, etc. With this work-up the possible cause of your problem can be identified and treatment can be taken accordingly.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sree Gouri S. R., OBGYN
