Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM

I would keep a possibility of Seborrheic dermatitis/dandruff.

In my practice I usually prescribe a ketoconazole based shampoo, to be used thrice weekly for 2 weeks or so. Once dandruff is controlled it should be used once or twice weekly as a maintenance.

If not controlled by ketoconazole, then it is advisable to visit a dermatologist because scalp psoriasis can present as dandruff.

Coal tar based shampoo, Steroid lotions etc can be used in unresponsive patients of dandruff under the supervision of a dermatologist

take care
regards
