What Could Be The Cause For Redness At The Base Of My Toes?
Last night, I had redness at the base of my toes on both feet. It looked like it might be an allergic reaction to something. I put Benadryl cream on it and went to bed. This morning, my left foot - at the base of my second toe - has three sizeable blisters or bubbles , where the redness was. They don t hurt or itch. They are not the kind of blister you get from using a rake without gloves, for example. They are not athlete s foot. They are opaque, slightly amber, and tough . They don squish.
Redness of toes may be due to irritants. It could be detergents, allergens and chemicals will produce this type of problem. It's irritant contact dermatitis. After long-lasting, the superficial fungus (yeast) may invade and produce intertrigo. You might have this problem. Nystatin topical application with Fluconazole oral tablets will give good relief. Clotrimazole dusting powder dusted to avoid further soften and infection. Keep both interdigital areas dry as much as possible.
