What Could Be The Cause Of Bleeding From The Nose And Vomiting In An Obese With Migraine ?

my husband usually have very bad migrains and I have to say that he is obese . Last night and even now he has very bad migraine , 3 times had nose bleed and 3 times he vomited. He says that its food poisoning but I`m ok and I made chicken in oven which was very cooked even it was dry too. Did he had this because he is obese or from food poisoning? Thank you

Hello,

Has any doctor diagnosed your husband with migraine? Because severe headaches (especially at the back of the head) with vomiting and nosebleed are indicative of hypertensive headache i.e. headache as a result of high blood pressure. In addition to this, he is obese, which also points towards hypertension.

However, if he has been diagnosed with migraine in the past, or if the headache has come on after emotional stress, hunger, excess exposure to light or noise, lack of sleep, then it explains the vomiting. However, nose bleed is not seen.

Please get his blood pressure checked and also get a lipid profile done to rule out hypertension and any cardiac ailment.

As of now, keep him on light food, avoid oily and spicy things, and see to it that he gets proper sleep.

Food poisoning is unlikely if he has not had any outside food in the last 6-10 hours.

All the best!
