Hi .. I had my periods on the 8-10th of november and this time my periods are late..my cycle is around 34 days I took a urine pregnancy test on the 15th of dec which was negative.. took another lab urine test on the 17th which was negative.. another home kit preg test on the 23rd which was negative.. No preggy symptoms.. A doctor has prescribed regestrone 5mg twice daily for 5 days... Help me with this please..
Hi, Thanks for the query. Delay in periods can occur due to many causes. Like hormonal imbalance, thyroid hormonal abnormalities, poly cystic ovary disease, general causes like anemia etc. Progesterone tablets help in inducing withdrawal bleeding. But sometimes it may take 7 to 10 days to induce withdrawal bleeding. So, wait for one more week. Possibly by that time you will get withdrawal bleeding. If you do not get withdrawal bleeding even after one week, consult gynecologist once and get evaluated. Then you may go for combined hormonal pills to induce withdrawal bleeding with your doctor's advice. Take care.
