What Could Be The Cause Of Having Excess Saliva And White Coating On My Tongue Along With Throat Pain?
I visited the doctor complaining of sore throat. Was told it was viral and if I got a fever to take z pak (azithromyocin). Developed fever the next day and started the z pak. Tongue swelled up and sore throat pain became intense. Went to doctor and received a bendryl and steroid shot for swelling. Both swelling and pain subsided. After a day, the throat pain is back and now I have excess saliva and my tongue has a whitish coating on it...
Exessive salivation and tongue swelling can be due to the use of medications, allergic reactions.. Take lukewarm saline rinses. Take antiseptic mouthwash gargles. Clean your tongue gently with tongue scraper or soft bristle toothbrush. Maintain a good oral hygiene.
