What Could Be The Dark Brown Spot Under Foot?

I just found a dark brown spot on the bottom of my husbands foot. It almost looks like a rust stain. It does not hurt him, it is not raised, but it is rather large. Should we make him an appointment to see a doctor right away or wait a few days to see how it goes?

It may be pigmented nevus most probably. However, consult the dermatologist to get the perfect diagnosis. Regular follow up may be necessary as there is possibility of malignant melanoma.
