hello,
im 36+4 AND THE MID WIFE HAS JUST CALLED ME TO SAY MY HAEMOGLOBIN'S IS 9.6 AND THAT THERE WILL BE TABLETS READY FOR ME ON FRI TO GET FROM SURGERY, IS THIS OK, WHAT SHOULD IT BE.. I WAS MENT TO GET THE RESULT 5 WEEKS AGO BUT THE BLOOD CAME BACK INSURFICIANT , SO NOW THEY ARE GETING BACK TO ME

Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. 9.6 g% is mild anemia. Not to worry.
2. Improved diet intake along with supplements is necessary. If the type of anemia is not unknown, Iron and Vit B12 supplements would be helpful.
3. Followup after 15 days with reticulocyte count will be helpful for evaluation of bone marrow response. Ideal value will be around 13-14g% for you. Improvement should be complete within two months.
