Hello, My husband has a soft golf sized lump on his back. It came kind of suddenly, just noticed it recently. He is 75 years old, fairly active, and was cutting the grass and weed -wrecking the last couple of days, could this have anything to do with it? He says it is painful when he moves certain ways. What could it be? Should he be seen by a doctor?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Sudden appearance of a golf-ball sized lump on the back of a 75 year old male should be examined for clinical evaluation by a Doctor. Working with grass cutting and all should not have caused this. The most probable cause is an infection in the pre-existing sebaceous cyst or so. Clinical examination will help to clear the diagnosis and plan for a proper management
