What Could Be The Purple Bruise Under The Tongue Which Is Swollen?

My husband noticed a purple bruise under his tongue this morning. It was the length of my pinky finger and it was swollen; yet he said it was not sore. He has been infected with herpes and gental warts in the past and about six mouths ago he stated he had blood in his semen.

thanks for your query,
the swelling in the floor of the mouth could be a ranula that is cystic lesion in the floor of the mouth, it could be because of any trauma or any obstruction in the duct opening...or swelling could be because of the stone in the salivary gland duct...you need to take madibular cross sectinal occlusal radiograph...consult a dental surgeon immediately..
i hope my answer will help you
take care...
