What Could Be The Reason For Atrial Fibrillation After Valve Replacement And A By-pass ?

My husband has had a valve replacement and a by-pass. Yesterday his heart went into atrial fibrillation. It stopped on its own probably out of fear of the paddles. Not sure if shocking it is the best thing but if nothing is done will this keep reoccurring?

Dear sir

Usually post valve replacement atrial fibrillation usually occurs due to drugs which are prescribed.

Cardiologist consultation with review of drugs is recommended. Make sure it should not progress to ventricular fibrillations and flutters

Thanks
