What Could Be The Reason For Erratic Heart Rate After A Cholecystectomy?

i recently had my gallbladder removed. since then, i notice my heart rate has gone erratic. i wake up at 430am with heart beating at 135-150 bpm. then it will get down to 75-85 after a while. it goes up at the strangest times, including just sitting in my chair. What could this be?

Hello,

If you have recovered from the surgery, I would suggest get done an ECG, if possible during that very moment of palpitations. Also, do HB, and TSH. If everything is normal then consider that you might be having panic attacks. For that, you start taking benzodiazepines like Alprazolam for two weeks and also start tab Escitilopram 10mg half in the morning for few days then followed by one tab in the morning and continue. Deep breathing exercise is also highly recommended in panic attacks. Also, decrease intake of caffeine consisting food / drinks.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
