What Could Be The Reason For Having A Lot Of Thirst?

I seem to be thirsty a lot. I'm healthy in general (Female: 35, not overweight, eat at least partially well, have been bad about working out in the winter but quite active otherwise etc). I have always consumed large quantities of water (I rarely drink other beverages, other than herbal tea) but lately I seem to be constantly thirsty. I've always got a lot of sinus junk going on and aways seem to be fighting a cold or just maintaining until I get another cold. I live in a Utah so am at high altitude and low humidity. I'm wondering if I should look in to diabetes?

Hello,
Thanks for your query.
There are various causes-
A recent salty or spicy meal
Bleeding enough to cause a significant decrease in blood volume
Diabetes
Drugs such as anticholinergics, demeclocycline, diuretics, phenothiazines
Excessive loss of water and salt (possibly due to not drinking enough water, profuse sweating, diarrhea, or vomiting)
Loss of body fluids from the bloodstream into the tissues due to:
Conditions such as severe infections (sepsis) or burns
Heart, liver, or kidney failure
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
Take care
