What Could Be The Reason For Having Bleeding From Mouth?

Yes hi. About a year ago my friend, who's been anorexic for the past 12 years, while drunk, overdosed. She doesn't remember anything other than being hypothermic, weak, very dizzy and bleeding from her mouth. She's still here by the way. In order to help her and since I'm curious myself I've looked it up online but to no avail. I'm wondering what exactly caused the bleeding?

If it's a factor she had only 3 cups of wine. She didn't eat for 2 days and she hasn't overdosed since, as she's to afraid to.

Thank you.

Hello,
Thanks for your query.
You may safely wait if this is not recurrent.
Meanwhile you may inspect your gums, especially between the teeth, and oral cavity including around and below the tongue for any obvious source of this bleed. A common area in the anterior nose from where a small bleed may arise is the Little's area on the anterior nasal septum. A septal spur is also a common cause. These area's are easily seen in the mirror by yourself.
Your physician may also examine more thoroughly by endoscopy, especially to rule out any growths, scans, dental check-up and blood tests including a coagulogram if this is a recurrent problem or a unilateral nasal bleed.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
Take care
