What Could Be The Reason For Having Coughing And Difficulty In Breathing?

Hi my son is 7 year old he was coughing a lot saying his throat hurt so I took him to urgent care Dr said he had strep although she did not perform throat culture now he has had 3 episodes where he stops breathing or feel like he can t breath and gasps for air what should I do

I have gone through your query regarding coughing and difficulty in breathing of your 7 years old son.

As you said that your son is having throat infection and he had episodes of respiratory arrest. Clinical history of your son is indicating for severe respiratory infection and associated with consolidation (pneumonia).

To confirm it and for the treatment point of view you should do-

1- X-Ray chest.

2- Culture and sensitivity of throat swab.

3- Gram's staining of phlegm of your son.

With the help of above investigations and their co-relation with clinical findings one may made correct diagnosis and that may be accordingly manage.
