What Could Be The Reason For Having Dark Red Bruises On My Arms?

Hi doctor, am 65 and live in South Africa. I have vitaligo. In the last few months I have developed dark red bruises (I think) on my arms about the size of a pea. They are not raised nor are they painful. They dissolve over a few weeks. What do you think is the reason for them? Are they an indicator of anything? I also have type 2 diabetes which is under control. I would really appreciate some answers. Kind regards, Jean

Hi,

It seems to be ecchymotic patches. I would recommend you to get your coagulation profile and complete blood count to exclude any underlying cause.
