What Could Be The Reason For Having Dizziness And Nausea For A Diabetic Person?
I am 48 years old, type two diabetic, on insulin....Im a pretty healthy person otherwise...but since Friday afternoon, I have been nauseated and I can't seem to get a handle on it. I am not vomiting, but I am slightly dizzy at times. I know several factors could be playing a role here, but is this a common side effect with early onset kidney failure?

Thank you for writing in HMC, A common side effect of insulin as you know is hypoglycemia which is low blood glucose levels. which is probably why you have dizziness, because of the lack of glucose reaching the brain. it also causes anxiety, sweating and other symptoms which is dangerous if not corrected. get your blood glucose level measured and consult your doctor to reduce the dose of your insulin accordingly if the glucose levels are falling often. hyperglycemia also may cause dizziness due to dehydration. symptoms of early onset renal failure are not that specific. it could be even totally asymptomatic .keep a check on urine output, get your urine albumin, creatinine clearance, serum urea, creatinine values checked often. Microalbuminuria is one of the first sign of renal failure. Eat less salt to avoid hypertension, exercise regularly, eat healthy and maintain your glucose levels at a normal range which is very important.
