What Could Be The Reason For Having Dizziness, Sore Throat And Cold Sweats?

I ve been feeling slightly dizzy off and on for a few days. Have had a sore throat off and on, too, but it is worse today. I get hot, then have a cold sweat, then I m fine for awhile, but the sore throat continues. Was sneezing for a short time & had a runny nose for a short time this afternoon. My daughter-in-law was visiting this week, and had strep right before she came. Was on an antibiotic, but it didn t seem to help so she was tested again while here, and STILL had strep. What do you suggest?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you are having symptoms of having dizziness, sore throat and cold sweats, well these symptoms are due to sinusitis and upper respiratory tract infection caused by bacteria. Need not to worry. Drink plenty of water and liquids. Take tepid sponging if it is severe dizziness and headache. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles 2-3 times a day. You should take steam inhalation twice a day. Take paracetamol for fever and headache. Consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics amoxiclav at least for 10 days along with decongestant. Maintain proper hygiene. Doctor may order test like swab test , blood test , and viral culture test to rule out condition like acid reflux and strep throat. Maintain proper hygiene and drink plenty of fluids.
