What Could Be The Reason For Having Fever After An Angioplasty With Stent?

My husband had a hart attack then an angioplasty with stent 4 days ago. He is at the hospital and he was moved today from intensive care to a regular room. He starting with little fever around noon and now has around 101 grades. What can cause this fever?

Hello. Fever after an cardiac intervention can be extremely disturbing and frightening. Before we jump on to any conclusion I would ask you to confirm with your treating doctor about any IV canula contamination or any blood sepsis. Kindly enquire about the same at your current hospital.
