What Could Be The Reason For Having Painful Swollen Nodes Behind My Ears?
I have painful I believe swollen nodes under and behind my ears along with warm sensations and a prickly skin feeling on my torso back and front. I have had a pretty bad cold but am finally getting over but just want to sleep because I don't feel my normal self. Thanks
I can understand your concern. The lymph nodes behind ear usually swell in case of infection of the ear. The infection is associated with the pain, warm sensation while touching the node and generalized malaise symptoms that you are experiencing. You might be having fever because of the infection.
As you are already having bad cold, ear infection might be related to that. I would advise you to start antibiotic Cefixime 200 mg (Topcef) once a day for five days. You can take Acetaminophen 500 mg or Ibuprofen 400 mg twice a day to have relief in fever and pain.
The pain and infected node should subisde by the end of 5 days' course of antibiotic. However, if it persists, you should consult an ENT specialist for clinical examination of the ear.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you get well soon!
