Welcome to Healthcare Magic
Your mother could be suffering from a condition called Rosacea which affects women commonly. There will be swelling, redness and severe itching of face. Avoid sun exposure. Drink plenty of water. Eat plenty of fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables. She may need to apply mild corticosteroid ointment under medical supervision, thinly on the site of the itch which should give relief. Also she can take antihistamine tablet which is available over the counter. Best will be to consult a Dermatologist as soon as you can for thorough checkup and proper management of her problem.
