What Could Be The Reasons For Having Itching And Small Bumps Around Anus And Inner Labia?

Hi I have really bad itching and small bumps that resemble swollen taste buds or razor burn around my anus and inner labia. I haven't shaved but I did just recover from a yeast infection. What could it be? I haven't had intercourse in a month so I'm not sure if it can be an std.

Hi. Thank for posting your concern at HCM

Judging from the description it seems that due to scratching the skin in that area consequent upon yeast infection, the skin in that area has become Lichenified/eczematous which in turn generates more sensation to itch, thereby leading to an itch-scratch cycle.

In such a case i would advice my patients to take an oral antihistamine which will control itching thus breaking the itch-scratch cycle.

Application of a topical moderately potent steroid will help too.

Another possibility which needs to be ruled out is that of Lichen simplex et atrophicus which is very itchy at these sites but need to be confirmed only by a dermatologist on physical examination

take care
regards
