What Could Be The Reasons For Having Shortness Of Breath Along With Chest And Throat Tightness?

Last summer I began to experience shortness of breath along with chest and throat tightness. These symptoms occurred sudden and continues today. Sometimes, breathing becomes so difficult that it makes me feel exhausted. Even talking takes a lot of energy. What could this possibly be?

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hello
Thanks for your query.
As your symptoms have a seasonal variation, in all probability it is asthma with allergic rhinitis in exposure to allergen. You should undergo allergic skin testing, spirometry with bronchodialator reversibility and a chest X-ray and X-ray of para-nasal sinuses (occipito-mental view) to conclusively prove the diagnosis. You need to consult a pulmonologist and get yourself properly evaluated.
Thank you.
Regards,
Dr Arnab Maji
