What Could Be The Reasons For Red Spots Appearing Under The Skin Of Palm, Fingers And Scalp?

Hi I have very small red spots that appear to be under the skin on my palm and fingers, as well as on . Some red spots also appear on my scalp (these do not cause any irritation ). The spots on fingers, hands and feet are sensitive to touch...feels like a prick of a needle when touching it.

Hi,

I can understand your concern for red spots appearing under the skin of palm, fingers and scalp.

The type of description you have provided for your problem in palms and fingers matches with pompholyx. It is also known as dyshidrotic eczema which appears as recurrent painful dots of the fingers, palms, and soles, characterized by a sudden onset of many deep-seated pruritic, clear vesicles.

You can apply a steroid based cream such as fluticasone or mometasone two times day. Oral antihistamine such as loratadine can be taken 1-2 times per day. Oral steroid may be required in more severe and recurrent conditions. You can meet a dermatologist for further guidance.

Take care.

Dermatologist Dr. Johny Chacko's  Response
Hello,
Welcome to healthcare magic,
There are a lot of causes of red spots over hands and scalp. Without an opportunity to closely examine the lesion, I would not be able to accurately specify the condition. You might need to consider a consultation with dermatologist for assessment and work up.
The alternate option is to ask me a direct query by clicking on this short url http://bit.ly/dr-j-chacko , where you have an option of uploading a picture of the lesion which will help a great deal in diagnosing the condition.
Take care.
