What Could Be The Slimy Coating On Tongue After Tooth Removal Surgery?

My friend had surgery to remove his teeth yesterday, and now he has a what he describes as a slimy coating on his tongue. He opened up and his tongue is coated in black goop. I'm wondering if this is a coating of blood or some form of reaction to the surgery?

thanks for your query,
the slimy coating on the tongue could be the blood clot on the tongue if it is black in color, if it a white coating it can be a coated tongue with food debris due to improper cleaning of tongue...nothing to worry...do a thorough cleaning of the tongue and do saline gargling..take the medicines prescribed following the extraction...if the coating persists consult a oral physician...
with regards..
