What Could Be The Swollen Glands, cough With Dark Mucous?

My throat has been somewhat sore when swallowing but more so that I can feel I guess my glands are swollen. I've had a cough where when I spit up the mucus it is dark in color and sometimes spotted. I have a cough not a terrible one but its there and I have lost my voice. This is the 3rd or 4th day. What could this be?

Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
As you describe it appears to be a bacterial infection of the throat, with congestion of the throat and the swelling of the glands.
I advise you to consult an E.N.T. surgeon for diagnosis and treatment.
I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms erithromycin, phenylephrine, citrizine, and paracetamol.
Avoid taking fruits, juices, ice cream, ice water.
wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
