What Could Be The Tenderness And Bruise In Breast?

80 yr old female. Never had any breast pain before. Mammogram this spring. everything o.k.

Several wks ago noticed tenderness around my nipples. then gradually extended more. thought it was perhaps from too much exercise and a wk ago got over a cold. Now my whole breasts are just tender. feel somewhat like a bruise. I thought it would just go away. Have not changed my medications. I am generally healthy and take only anxiety med and bio-identical testosterone and progesterone... very good doctor. Any advice would be greatly appreciatged.

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi,

This can be due to local infection in the breast tissue which can be treated with topical ointment, blood sugar test will be required.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sujoy S. Bhattacharjee, OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine
