What Could Be The White Spots Seen On The MRI Film?

my friend is only a 51yrs old black male and has had MRI's and spinal tap on the last film it showed white spots that could be mini strokes- He has been ruled out for MS and he doesn't have high blood pressure. They (doctors)are not sure what it could be? He goes to a VA hospital for his checkups since he's a veteran- however that place is like a zoo. Should he be taking asprin or multi vitamin?

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

Small mini strokes are usually seen in people past middle age in their 60s. But it can be seen at a younger age in those who have conditions like hypertension and diabetes. He may need to be on aspirin so prevent any complete strokes in the future. I would also suggest him to get his heart checked completely for any risk factors predisposing to heart diseases. Aspirin must be taken in doses as directed by his doctor and the will prevent the blood from clotting and leading to strokes in future.
