What Could Be The White Tissue Like Flesh With Red Clots On The Tampon And Have Been Taking Depo Birth Control Pill?
Hi, I am 16 years old and I recently about 3 or 4 weeks ago got the depo birth control pill. I was supposed to start my period that week. A week or so after the shot I got dark brown almost black discharge for about a week. Then I started my period. For so I thought. The next day I pulled out a tampon and there was a white tissue like sack or flesh like with red clots at each end of it. What could it be?
Hi ! Good morning and a Happy New Year 2014. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.
Even though you are on a birth control pill, it is not a hundred percent guarantee against pregnancy. I would suggest you to go for a serum HCG estimation and an ultrasound of the abdomen if need be and if advised by your gynaecologist. You must report specially if you have got any fever or abdominal pain. Also the tampons should be changed frequently to avoid any infectioin.
I hope this helps you in discussing your problem with your family physician for the needful. At the same time I would not hesitate to counsel you to have proper protective precautions during sex from this age to avoid any serious problem in future.
Thanks for using Health Care Magic forum for your health query. Wishing you all the luck in the New Year. Good luck.
