What Could Be Thick Dark Discharge From Nose Of A Dead Person?

Hi, I found my 59 year old brother dead on the floor this past Tuesday morning. His eyes were open and staring. His face was blue. He had some sort of dark bloody discharge from his nose, very thick. Could it be blood? There was no blood on his clothing or on the floor.

His blue face is suggesting as phyxia.It can be respiratory obstructive disorder.Thick discharge from nose is not blood. If there is no blood mark on clothing then nose discharge can be froth.His past history of ailment is important.His cause of death could be obstructive respiratory disorder.
