What Could Blood In Saliva Post A Fall Indicate?

Landed on my back from a fall from about a metre high, was spitting to get saliva out and saw a tiny amount of blood in one spit and never got it again but could just taste a bit in my mouth like I had bit my cheek or something, I'm fine now, is this OK?

Hi dear ,

As per your query you had a fall and got blood in saliva . Well this is very common because during fall injury occur to cheek , lip or tongue due to bite . There is no need to panic its normal . I would suggest you to do hydrogen peroxide rinses mix with equal amount of water twice a day for 2 days . Also do warm saline rinses twice a day . If blood appear in salive again then consult oral surgeon for proper checkup . Doctor may stitch your wound if its big in size or prescribe antibiotics along with vitamin C .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
