What Could Burning And Stinging Pain In Back Indicate?

I have a sharp stinging pain in my back on the top of the skin, feels like a wasp sting or being cut by a hot sharp knife when I twist wrong. it is not in my back bone it is in the soft tissue. I did not lift anything or strain my back feels like a tear and burns sharply
