What Could Burning Lungs Post Quitting Smoking Suggest?

I just quit smoking about a week ago but now I feel like my lungs are burning in the middle of my back and have sharp stings at times. I am not coughing or throwing up or nothing but do feel sick at times in my stomache. I feel like if I throw up I may feel better. I am thirsty all the time now too.

Thanks for your question on HCM.
By your history and description , your symptoms are typical of smoking withdrawal.
These are known as craving symptoms, which may force you to start smoking again.
Feeling thirsty, stomach cramps and pain, irritation and itching in lungs etc are seen routinely in nicotine smoke withdrawal.
So I advice you to control these symptoms for more 1-2 months than you will be alright.
If you find these symptoms troublesome to control than consult rehabilitation center and get done counselling by psychiatrist. Now a days nicotine gums are available which can reduce these symptoms. Newer anticraving drugs are also helpful in relieving these craving symptoms.
But don't start smoking again.
