What Could Burning Penis During Sex Suggest?

Hi, My fiancé says it burns his penis when we have sex. He says it doesn t happen every time but every so often. I have been in a faithful relationship with my fiancé for 10 years and these instances of discomfort have been happening since we started having sex many years ago. He said it feels acidic but I know I do not have kind of infections. We have both been checked for STD s in the past. Could he be allergic reaction to my secretions? or could it be a specific time of my cycle where my ph is different? Also, I know it isn t due to chaffing or rubbing because aroused and lubricated when it happens.

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi,

With the given information that there are no STDs, if anyone were to come to my clinic with the following history, I would like to rule out an urinary tract infection in both and treat accordingly.
1) I would order a urine culture and sensitivity report for both of you
2) In case of infection I would prescribe you Tab. Ciprofloxacin 250 mg for 3 days
3) If not I would advise you to get blood and urine culture.
4) Advise you to drink at least 4 litres of water daily

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sagar Mudgal, Psychiatrist
