What Could Cause A Light Brown Rectangular Spot On Top Of My Feet?

i woke up this morning with a light brown spot on the top of my foot, which is in the shape of a perfect rectangle. I first thought it must have been from something inside my sneaker, but it wasn t. it wasn t anything that could be washed off, it is actually a discoloration on my skin. any idea what it might be. ?

It could be a freckle. If size is increasing, better to consult a dermatologist and plan for a biopsy.
