What Could Cause A Painful Lump Formation In The Area Where Blood Was Drawn From Many Years Ago?

Hi, I donated blood almost 4 years back and never had any other blood test etc. after that. Now since a couple of months, there is a lump on my hand at the same location where the blood was drawn. This lump is a bit painful too. Should I be worried? What is the reason this lump has formed after so many years? Thanks for answering.

Hello,
Thanks for the query,

You might have developed thrombophlebitis.

It is inflammation of veins.

Although uncommon after 4 years, but still there is a possibility.

Better get an ultrasound of the affected part done.

Please meet a dermatologist for exact diagnosis.

Let me know if you have any other doubt.

you can ask a direct question to me on this forum, following the below link.
