Hi
Catching of infection may come from any source including nosocomial route. In such case it should be well managed.
A doctor should advise patient for culture and sensitivity test in such condition.
Asthma could be a result of infection in Respiratory tract or Allergy also in you case.
If I were your doctor I would have advised you preventive measures to skip the possibility of such conditions.
Hope this answers your query.
