What Could Cause Burnt Wood Like Taste After Using Nitrous Oxide At My Last Dental Visit?

I used nitrous oxide at my last dental visit and I smelled burnt wood during the entire time. Afterwards, I noticed my mouth tasted like this burnt wood and it won t go away, no matter how many times I brush, floss or rinse with mouthwash. What could this be??

Hi,

The burnt wood smell in mouth because of Airotor usage without water. It can be treated by using mouthwash and again doing scaling.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sowmiya V., Dentist
