What Could Cause Chronic Sore Throat, After Getting A Flu Shot, With Cough And Swallowing Difficulty?

I've had a sore throat since Christmas. It came with the flu. Had the flu shot. Been back to the doctor office, just got to see a NP. She tells me there is no infection. Throat and ears look good. But throat is still sore at night it gets so hard to swallow. And then the coughing starts. They say the throat is caused by the coughing, but I think it is the other way around.

Hi, IT would better to undergo endoscopic examination of the throat as many infections are overseen in routine torch light alone. You have rightly said- it is difficult to say what is causing what- cough vise versa sore-throat.
