What Could Cause Cold Sores Inside The Nostrils After Having Fallen Sick?

Why do I have cold sores inside my nose? This has happened the last two times I have been sick (within last 3 months). Could it be an allergy? I have had fever blisters on my lip and outside the nostril before but never inside until recently.
Thank you!
