What Could Cause Ear Pinching And Severe Pain In Ears With Black Wax?

Hi doctor....am frm India...i have a serious ear pinching and paining problem for 10 days...these pains comes and goes uncertainly....also i got black wax when using buds makes me fear...consulted local doctors...no improvement...pain remains...no insects ...only black and reddish in inner ear...i have blocked up now fr 2 days

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have ear pinching and severe pain in ears with black wax which which can occur due to otitis media , injury to ear or wax buildup. Black wax indicate blood in it , which could be due to ear drum injury . You should do warm dry compresses to external ear . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis. Doctor may examine by otoscopic means to check level of infection. Doctor may order throat swab test , viral culture test and allergy test to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics ( amoxicillin or penicillin .) at least for 10 days along with decongestant and anti inflammatory. In case of ear drum rupture , doctor may also recommend tympanoplasty.
