What Could Cause Enlargement Of Tonsils With Craters, Have Habit Of Smoking?

Hi there I'm a relatively healthy 20 year old female. I do smoke however. In the past month I've noticed my tonsil on the right side of my throat has enlarged quite a bit and its now touching my uvula. In the front of it is like a polyp like growth thats freaking me out. I don't have any pain associated with it and i tried putting pressure on it to see if there was stones cause I noticed craters but nothing but blood pooled to the surface. What could it be? I have a doctor's appointment with my gp on tuesday.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi sir, your tonsils have become chronically infected and increased in size.
If only your right tonsils is enlarged more than left then it can be tonsillar cyst.
Its a painless condition. Doesnt need emergency treatment , if it gets infected then you may need treatment and advised surgery for the same. Nothing related to your smoking.
But do consult an ENT specialist they eill guide you in a better way.
