What Could Cause Flu With Bad Chest?

I had the flu, no cold just a very bad chest and got to the stage where I could not breathe properly, I was put on 3 weeks of steroids and every time I finished them Icouldent breathe again , he sent me for a chest xray and was called by the hosp and fast tracked for the following week to see a chest consultant, he sent me for a ct scan that afternoon and phoned me pm to say that they think it is inflamation but wants to do a bronchostomy, I am still waiting for that, I am now on a very strong steroid and blue inhaler but now the pain has changed it is now on my left lung and it hurts when I breathe out and on my breastbone it almost feels bruised I have had this for 2 weeks now, I have tried coming off the steroid inhaler to see if my chest is getting better but I always go really wheezy, my x ray looked as if there was all splatter marks in it.

Acute Viral Bronchitis with accompanied Sarcoidosis.this could be due to other causes of Wheezing Bronchitis,for which You need to consult chest Physician.You need to rule out TB lungs also and rule it out.
Relief with steroids and repeated attacks on stopping steroids, with splatter marks on X-ray Chest.
Strong steroids indicates complication with superadded infection,which needs to be controlled with antibiotics.
