What Could Cause Hearing Strange Sounds, Light And Low Ringing In Ears With History Of Muffled Hearing?

Last week, for about 3 days my hearing was very limited out of my right ear. It sounded blocked or muffled. When my hearing came back, I got a pretty bad headache so I decided to take some aspirin. About a half hour later, the world was spinning around me. I slept it off that afternoon, but over the weekend (last Friday-Sunday) I felt very dizzy and nauseated throughout the day. I woke up fine, but then throughout the day the dizziness and nausea would return. I didn't take any more aspirin because I know that wouldn't have been good in addition to my sxs, but today I noticed that my music that I normally play from my computer sounded very funny. I thought it was just my computer, but I went to the drugstore and the music in the b ackground was "robot-like" too. I have had the tv on for a half hour or so, and what I am hearing soun very robotic and almost off-pitch, like an out of tune piano. Any leads on what this could be? I don't have any pain (yet) but I have had some very light, low ringing in my ears when I am in a very quiet place. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that ringing in ears along with muffled hearing and altered hearing can occur due to causes like ear infection, perforated eardrum, excess ear wax accumulation, Eustachian tube dysfunction, Meniere's disease, TMJ disorders, Acoustic Neuroma etc.

I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like Audiometry, x Ray MRI can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..

For nausea you can be advised Domperidone or Ondensarton..
Avoid sudden jerky head movements..
Limit salt intake.
In case if ringing does not resolve then you can be advised medicines like Tricyclic Anti-depressant like Amitryptiline, anti anxiety medication like Alprazolam, as well as Multivitamin supplements can be advised..
White noise devices can be advised..
You can also be advised Neuromodulation..
Avoid exposure to very loud sounds and also avoid diving, swimming etc..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
