What Could Cause Intermittent Harsh Dry Cough With Watery Eyes?

Dear Docotr: I have been suffering from intermittent harsh dry cough triggered by a tickling in the throat, it is so harsh I get tears in my eyes. ENT and lab evaluations revealed no significant abnormalities. ENT/Pulmonary physician ended up prescribing long-term (30 days) antiallergic medications. The symptoms subsides only to return after a short while. Not able to relate to any allergens. No weight loss. Please advise.
