What Could Cause On And Off Mild Pinkish Bleeding After Childbirth?

I had a baby 2 months ago (natural delivery with no tears or stitches) and bleeding after childbirth finished. Then 2 weeks ago I got my first period after having my baby. I had normal bleeding for the first 5-7 days and it seemed to be finishing up but then when I woke one morning and went to the toilet my urine was pink and when I wiped myself I had fresh red blood again. Now I've had small amounts of blood loss continuing making it now 14 days of bleeding. It's not a lot of blood but enough to have to wear a pad to not soil my underwear. Sometime my urine is normal colour and no blood then later its back again. Why is the bleeding coming and going? Is something wrong or is this normal? Thanks !

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi,

I think that there may be a mild secondary infection. I would suggest you have a antibiotics course and also a tranaxemic acids course to stop bleeding. If bleeding does not stop then a progesterone support may be required.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
