What Could Cause Periodic Swelling And Bruising Under And Around My Little Toe, With Moderate Pain When Walking?

Below my little toe underneath my foot around the bone there is swelling, and then turned into a bruise on the top of my foot right over it. The swelling is only on the bottom right of my foot towards the toe where you would get a callous.
This happens periodically with moderate pain to walk on it and swelling.
